Why I Became a Fractional COO

As a seasoned entrepreneur with over 22 years in the coaching and consulting industry and a rich corporate background, I’ve worn many hats. I’ve been a coach, an author, a speaker, a mentor, and a senior leader in operations. My journey has been diverse, fulfilling, and transformative. However, when I decided to embrace the role of a Fractional COO, it was a deliberate and strategic move to align my unique blend of skills, passions, and experiences with the needs of growing businesses.

Here’s the story of why I became a Fractional COO and what it means to me.

The Corporate Foundation

Before stepping into entrepreneurship, I spent years in corporate America serving as an Operations Project Manager, Software Development Program Manager, and Network Operations Senior Manager. I thrived in roles where I had to analyze systems, streamline processes, and manage teams to deliver exceptional results for internal and external stakeholders.

These roles taught me the importance of operational efficiency, strategic foresight, and decisive leadership. I developed the ability to see the bigger picture while keeping a firm grasp on the details that drive outcomes. Yet, as fulfilling as corporate life was, I felt a pull toward something more personal and impactful—supporting smaller organizations and individual business owners to achieve similar success on their terms.

My Entrepreneurial Evolution

When I transitioned into entrepreneurship, I leaned heavily on my corporate skills to create and grow my coaching business. Over the years, I’ve guided hundreds of entrepreneurs and business owners, equipping them with strategies to market, sell, and scale effectively. Through programs like the More Coaching Clients Sales and Marketing Academy and certifications like the Certified Income Acceleration Coach Program, I’ve seen clients break through revenue plateaus and surpass their goals.

But one thing became increasingly clear: while many business owners excel at their craft, they often struggle with the operational side of scaling. The day-to-day logistics, team management, and strategic planning required to sustain growth can feel overwhelming. That’s where I saw an opportunity to make an even bigger impact.

The Fractional COO Opportunity

A Fractional COO is a strategic partner who brings C-suite level expertise to businesses on a part-time basis. This role allows me to collaborate with businesses earning $1M–$10M annually—specifically in industries I’m passionate about, like coaching, consulting, and creative agencies. It’s the perfect intersection of my corporate experience and entrepreneurial journey.

As a Fractional COO, I:

  • Streamline operations to improve efficiency and profitability.
  • Scale businesses sustainably without burning out.
  • Develop and lead high-performing teams aligned with the company’s vision.
  • Design and implement strategic plans that drive growth while maintaining focus on core strengths.

This work gives me the chance to dive deeply into the operations of a business, uncover opportunities for improvement, and implement solutions that create lasting results. It’s incredibly rewarding to watch a business transform—freeing up owners to focus on their passions while their companies thrive.

Why This Role Matters

I became a Fractional COO because I understand the challenges of scaling a business firsthand. I know what it’s like to juggle too many responsibilities, feel stuck in the weeds, and wonder how to grow without sacrificing quality or personal wellbeing. My mission is to alleviate that burden for my clients.

Through strategic oversight and hands-on implementation, I empower business owners to focus on their strengths while achieving operational excellence. By working closely with my clients, I bring clarity, structure, and strategy to their businesses, unlocking their full potential.

A Vision for the Future

My ultimate goal as a Fractional COO is to support businesses in scaling sustainably, profitably, and in alignment with their values. I’m passionate about creating systems and structures that not only foster growth but also promote freedom and fulfillment for the business owner.

Becoming a Fractional COO is more than a career shift—it’s a calling. It’s a way for me to leverage my decades of experience to serve businesses that are poised for greatness. Together, we can build something extraordinary.

If you’re ready to elevate your business and need a partner who understands the complexities of scaling, let’s connect. I’m committed to delivering the operational excellence and strategic vision your business deserves.
